When to See a Doctor

It’s very rare to experience side effects other than stomachaches or a sore throat, if you take only a bite of soap because you’re curious or have attempted tasting it once.
However, if you (or your child) are frequently consuming soap or feeling the urge to eat soap, it is important to seek medical attention immediately.
In some cases, children and pregnant women eventually stop feeling the urge to eat soaps, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t report to a doctor and explain what you’re feeling.
Most people with long-term pica have bowel blockages that may make it difficult to use the toilet.
