Anxiety
This is a common cause of fever. It is just like psychogenic or emotional fever and it can make you feel hot without necessarily increasing the body’s temperature.
Other symptoms of anxiety are:
- Muscle tension
- Fatigue
- Irritability
- Restlessness
- Elevated heart rate or heart palpitations
- Worrying every time
Diabetes
The chances of feeling feverish are high in people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. It is commonly seen during hot and humid seasons. It can be caused by:
- Changes in insulin [4] level caused by increased body temperature.
- Alterations in sweat glands, which can make it more difficult for your body to cool down in hotter temperatures.
- Feeling more vulnerable to dehydration, [5] which can increase level of thirstiness.
