Gasoline Poisoning: Symptoms, Causes, Effects and More

Effects Observed Immediately

Irrespective of its form, gasoline can cause significant harm to your health. When you swallow gasoline, you may experience severe problems with your major organs, such as the lungs and heart. If it is consumed in large quantity, it may lead to death.

A major component of gasoline that makes it highly dangerous is Carbon monoxide. You should be careful of this if you regularly work with machines fuelled by gasoline. Studies done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that high levels of carbon monoxide released by small engines make them highly hazardous. This gas cannot be seen, and it has no odour. Therefore, you may inhale a large amount without even intending to. This can permanently damage the brain and cause death.
