Morning Sickness: When It Starts, Treatment, and Prevention

When Does Morning Sickness Begin, When Do It Peak and How Long Does It Last?

Studies show morning sickness starts as early as the sixth week of pregnancy in approximately 80% of people with the condition. Most people start to experience symptoms of morning sickness before nine weeks of pregnancy.

In most cases, the symptoms of morning sickness feel worse for most people around 8-10 weeks of pregnancy. However, this time is not usually the same for everyone as everyone’s symptoms peak at different times.

According to research, morning sickness may improve or go away around the 13th week of pregnancy (the end of the first trimester). In some cases, you may experience lingering symptoms through the start of the second trimester that is between weeks 14 and 27. In rare cases, it may occur until the end of your pregnancy.
