Should You Flip Your Mattress?

How should you flip your mattress?

The first thing to do is to ensure your mattress is suitable for flipping. When you are sure your mattress can be flipped, remove your pillows, bedsheets and any furniture close to your bed. You can call a friend, family member, or partner to help you lift the bed.

The following steps are involved in flipping your mattress:

  • Rotate the mattress 90 degrees to make the sides face the foot and head of the bed.
  • Hold the mattress by its handles if you need to.
  • Raise the mattress up on one edge and rest it against the head of the bed.
  • At this point, you can wash any dirty linen or material.
  • Lower the mattress gradually in a way that what was once under is now facing up.
  • Then, rotate again for 90 degrees to ensure it is in line with the bed frame.

Conclusion

Flipping a mattress has numerous effects. Asides from boosting its life span, it also makes you sleep comfortably. Flipping is not suitable for all mattresses. If you are using a design that does not support flipping, you can decide to rotate your mattress. While it may not offer the same level of longevity as flipping, it is also highly effective.
