Teletherapy – What It Is, Benefits, Uses and Limitation

Uses of Teletherapy

A 2013 research compared teletherapy with in-person therapy and discovered that teletherapy can be used for most conditions as in-person therapy. It can be used as a part of treatment for depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and anxiety.

Teletherapy is especially useful for people with chronic health issues like recovery from certain diseases. These people may find it difficult to travel to the therapist’s office. It is also best for the client to stay home, to avoid Infection after treatment. It is also more useful for people that live in rural areas as it can provide access to mental health professionals and support groups.

Besides mental health, teletherapy can also be useful for language therapy and occupational therapy. Conditions that may require teletherapy include:

  • Anxiety disorder [2]
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
  • Aphasia [3]

  • Conditions that affect thinking
