How does oriahnn work?
Oriahnn is used to treat heavy periods caused by uterine fibroids. How these drug works are referred to as their mechanism of action.
Oriahnn contains three active ingredients:
- Elagolix, which is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist. It suppresses the effect of GnRH and stops the release of two other hormones luteinizing hormones and follicle-stimulating hormones. This helps to decrease heavy menstrual bleeding.
- Estradiol. This is a type of estrogen that is used to stop severe bone loss with oriahnn usage
- Norethindrone acetate. This is a form of progesterone used for protection against estrogen-related side effects with oriahnn treatment.
