This is a condition that occurs when the cells in the muscles, fat and liver don’t respond properly to insulin. It occurs when the body is unable to utilize glucose from your blood for energy. The pancreas works extra hard to produce more insulin. This causes the blood sugar level to increase.

The chances of having diabetes are higher in people with insulin resistance. You can have this condition for years without knowing because there are no manifestations. You must visit your doctor regularly if you notice any strange thing in your body.

Insulin resistance can cause the following:
