What to Know before Using Eylea?

Asides from allergy to Eylea, other conditions to consider before using the drug include:

Swelling on the interior portion of your eyes.
Any type of bacterial, fungal, or viral infection in or around your eyes.

Let your doctor know if you have ever had any of these conditions:

Stroke or a blood clot or stroke. [1]
Glaucoma or other diseases that elevate pressure inside your eyes.

It is important to let your doctor know if you are pregnant or whether you plan to get pregnant when taking Eylea. Your doctor will recommend efficient birth control methods to help you prevent pregnancy. You can continue using your birth control for three months after your last injection. Do not breastfeed your child anytime you are using Eylea. You can speak with your healthcare provider to know more about using the drug with Eylea.
