Tadalafil: Uses, Dosage, Side Effects, and Warnings

What Are the Uses of Tadalafil?

Tadalafil (Cialis) is an oral tablet that can be used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or both disorders. It is also used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is characterized by an enlarged, but non-cancerous prostate gland. The prostate gland grows so big that it squeezes or pinches your urethra (the muscular tube that transports urine out of the body.) The symptoms of this condition include frequent urination, painful urination, urgent urge to urinate, difficulties urinating.

Erectile dysfunction occurs due to inadequate blood in the penis during erection. This prevents the penis from expanding or hardening enough for sexual intervourse to take place.

Pulmonary Arterial hypertension is a rare but severe type of high blood pressure. The condition usually occurs in the pulmonary arteries, which are the blood vessels in your lungs.
