As with other drugs, the use of Topiramate can lead to some side effects. Most of these side effects are usually mild and they normally go away after some time. Other side effects are severe and may require medical attention.

Some examples of mild side effects of Topiramate may include

Fatigue
Nausea
Loss of weight
Fever
Problems with memory
Common cold
Drowsiness
Tingling sensations in the hands and feet
Diarrhea
Problems with concentration
Loss of appetite

Serious side effects that may require medical attention include:

Acidosis: This shows symptoms like rapid and shallow breathing, tachycardia, weakness, confusion
Problems with vision
Allergic reaction
Raised level ammonia in the blood
Persistent fever
Kidney stones: This shows symptoms like lower back pain, hematuria, difficulty passing urine,
Suicidal thoughts
