Vyvanse has a boxed warning. This is the most serious warning from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) [7]. It is a warning that alerts doctors and patients about drug effects that may be dangerous.
Vyvanse is an amphetamine and stimulant medication. It has a high risk of drug abuse, which is also called drug misuse. It also has a high risk of psychological and physical dependence, meaning the person needs the drug to function normally.
Before your doctor prescribes Vyvanse, he/she will ask you if you’ve ever misused or been dependent on alcohol, prescription drugs, or illegal drugs. They’ll also monitor you during your treatment to see if you develop any signs of misusing or becoming dependent on Vyvanse.
