Tremfya is a brand name prescription medication. It is approved and recommended for use in adults to treat certain conditions, such as:
- Psoriatic Arthritis [1]: This is a condition where you have psoriasis, and pain and stiffness in your joints. For this treatment, Tremfya may be used alone or in combination with other drugs.
- Moderate to severe plaque psoriasis [2]: Plaque psoriasis is a condition that causes itchy patches on your skin. They usually look pink or darker than your skin color. Drug details
Tremfya contains the active drug guselkumab [4]. It is a biologic drug, which means it is made from parts of living organisms with the use of advanced technology. Tremfya belongs to a class of medications called interleukin-23 blockers. Drugs in the same class work in a similar way.
Tremfya comes in liquid form inside single-dose prefilled syringes and single-dose One-Press injectors.
It is available in 100 milligrams/milliliter.
The medication is given as an injection under your skin. A healthcare provider will administer your first dose of Tremfya. Then they can show you or your caregiver how to administer the injection at home.
