Use antihistamines

Histamines are compounds released by the immune system during an allergic reaction. For most mild cases of allergic reactions, you can use antihistamines to treat your symptoms.

Antihistamines work by inhibiting the production of histamines [2] in your body when you have allergies. This can reduce or stop general allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and mild skin reactions.

These drugs can be taken orally or applied topically as nasal sprays, eye drops, and other kinds of liquid. This is to make sure you can use it as close to the site of your allergic reaction as possible.

You may use antihistamines to treat allergies or as a preventive drug when you are about to come in contact with an allergen. Bear in mind that these drugs can make you a bit drowsy. When buying these drugs, you may want to choose second-generation antihistamines because they do not make you as drowsy as first-generation antihistamines like Benadryl.
