Lower Back Pain Exercises

Hamstring Stretches

Hamstring stretches help to work some of the muscles of the spine that are located in the lower legs. There are different forms of hamstring stretches, but you must ensure that you keep it safe without stressing your lower back and worsening the pain. You can make use of a cloth or towel to keep the exercise light or safe.

Steps

  1. Lie flat with your back to the ground and keep your knees slightly bent and your feet on the ground.
  2. Raise one leg, keep the knee slightly bent, and bring it towards your chest.
  3. Throw the cloth over the ball of the raised leg and hold both ends with your two hands.
  4. Pull back against the cloth to straighten your knee.
  5. Maintain this position for up to thirty seconds or less, depending on your tolerance.
  6. Repeat for up to ten times, five for each leg.
