Pain in the Right Upper Quadrant of the Ribs – Causes and Treatment

When to See a Doctor

If you have reoccurring or mild pain in the right upper quadrant, it is necessary to visit your healthcare provider immediately. Also, inform your doctor when you notice any of the following signs: black stools, swollen abdomen, yellow eyes or skin, unexpected weight loss, vomiting or coughing up blood, serious pain in the right body area, and blood in the urine or stools. Also, seek medical attention for any signs of a kidney infection or preeclampsia. These health issues can be severe when you do not receive proper treatment.[6]
