Mild Food Allergies
Mild food allergies while uncomfortable, are usually non-life-threatening. Many people do nothing while experiencing one because the allergies typically pass on their own. Medications can be taken to relieve symptoms.
Symptoms of mild food allergies [4] include:
- Hives or Urticaria is characterized by itchy reddened welts of varying size which appear on the skin.
- Dyspnea: This is also known as shortness of breath.
- Dysphagia: difficulty in swallowing.
- Allergic rhinitis: This is also known as hay fever and is characterized by sneezing runny or stuffy nose, watery, red, and itchy, and swollen eyes.
- Angioedema: swelling of the skin which occurs usually around the face, mouth, tongue, neck, and throat.
- Scratchy throat
- Diarrhea
- Nausea or vomiting
- Itching
- Eczema
- Dizziness
- Burning sensation in the mouth.
