Treatment

- Home treatment: the mild type of this condition can be treated at home by soaking the infected area in warm water for about 15 minutes 3 to 4 times a day. Make sure to dry the area thoroughly. This helps to drain the pus from under the skin and also to reduce the pain and swelling. If the symptoms persist, you should visit your doctor immediately.
- Medical treatment: if this infection is severe, home treatment might not work for it and it is advised to visit the doctor. It is mostly treated with antibiotics or antifungal medications depending on the seriousness of the infection and the doctor is able to give the right prescription and dosage for the drug and then helps the condition to heal faster.
