Diet for colon diverticulosis: a sample menu

Health nutrition should become permanent with a given diagnosis. You should try to prepare meals only from permitted products. You can diversify the menu, create unusual recipes from meat, vegetables, low-fat cottage cheese. At first, the menu should look like this:

for breakfast, porridge or fruit salad;

you can have a snack with yogurt without additives and flavors;

for lunch, vegetable soup and a slice of bread, cottage cheese pancakes in the oven;

afternoon tea – a glass of kefir;

Dinner – a piece of fish baked in foil with stewed vegetables.
Despite the fact that fermented milk products are allowed, you should not drink regular milk. It is difficult to digest, can provoke flatulence and upset stools. You can cook porridge in milk, but at the same time choose only low-fat one. Do not overeat at night, as this is an additional load on the intestines. If hunger is strongly felt and interferes with sleep, you can drink a glass of kefir, eat a sweet fruit e.g. an apple.
For breakfast, you can also have toast with a slice of cheese or butter, cottage cheese casserole, fruit. It is better to drink tea one hour after a meal so as not to dilute the gastric juice. It is also useful before breakfast, half an hour before meals, drink a glass of warm water to start the work of the digestive tract.
For lunch and dinner, it is permissible to eat meat, such as chicken breast or lean beef. The meat is boiled, stewed, baked. Buckwheat, rice, vegetables are suitable as a side dish. The meat should be well washed, processed, peeled, cartilage and veins removed.
The diet for colon diverticulosis should exclude all irritating mucous products. If nausea appears during treatment, blood in the stool, you should immediately consult a doctor. In some cases, surgery is required.
You need to follow a strict diet for 2 weeks, then you can add pasta to the diet, a small amount of sweets (cookies, marshmallows), but avoid fatty, fried and spicy foods.
