Signs And Symptoms of Inner Ear Infection

Earache or pain

Colds, allergies, or sinusitis can block the tubes in your middle ear. Earache is usually a common symptom of an inner ear infection due to fluid build-up in the ear.

When fluid builds up [3] due to an infection in the ear and then the fluid further gets infected, it usually results in a case of ear infection. This is the most common cause of ear pain, ache, or discomfort.

Loss of balance

Inflammation of the nerves in the inner ear is the common cause of labyrinthitis, otherwise known as an inner ear infection.

When the vestibular nerve [4] swells from the infection (usually by a virus), the signals to the brain are altered and this may result in dizziness, balance problems, nausea, and even trouble concentrating.

If you’re feeling dizzy, spinning sensation, lightheaded, or unsteady, it is likely a result of an inner ear infection.
