Hearing Loss: Types, Symptoms, Causes & Treatment

Symptoms of Hearing Loss

Most people eventually lose their hearing as they age. They might not even be conscious of it. Generally speaking, you might be experiencing hearing loss if:

  • You tend to frequently ask people to repeat themselves.
  • You assume that people are murmuring.
  • You find it difficult to follow conversations, particularly while speaking on the phone or in a busy setting like a restaurant.
  • Certain high-pitched sounds, such as birdsong, are inaudible.
  • You must increase the volume on your computer, tablet, or television.
  • You experience vertigo or balance issues.
  • Your ears are ringing, which is called tinnitus.
  • You feel pain in your ear (earache).
  • You get a pressure or fluid sensation inside your ear.
