What Are Hives?

Hives, also known as Urticaria, is an acute skin condition that appears as red welts which are usually very itchy. They can appear in any part of your body. Both adults and infants can be affected. Most times, hives slowly disappear about a day or two after their occurrence. They can also last for several months or even more than a year.

Some symptoms of hives may include

  • Raised, itchy welts

  • Redness of the skin which appears as black spots on dark skin.
