Rosacea
There are four subtypes of rosacea [2] and each of them have specific symptoms they identify with. It is possible to have several subtypes simultaneously.
Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea
Symptoms of this type include:
- Redness in the middle of the face and across the nose
- The redness could spread to the cheeks if not treated
- Visible blood vessels
Papulopustular Rosacea
Symptoms of this type include:
- Pus-filled blemishes that look like whitehead on the chin, cheeks, and forehead.
- Swollen, red bumps in the same areas if the face
Ocular Rosacea
This type is peculiar to the eye, its symptoms include:
- Stinging sensation
- Watery, bloodshot eyes
- Cyst or sties on the eyelids
- Sensitivity to light
- Broken blood vessels on the eyelids
Phymatous Rosacea
This type is rare and occurs in men. It symptoms include:
- Thick skin on the nose
- Bumbs
- Redness
