Astigmatism: Symptoms, Causes, Diagnosis and Treatment

What Are Refractive Errors?

Refractive error is a general term used to identify eye disorders that make it difficult to see clearly. Astigmatism is a type of refractive error. The shape of the eye is unable to bend light correctly, and as a result, vision can become hazy, blurry, or doubled.

Nearsightedness

Nearsighted (Myopia [2]) is an eye condition in which distant objects look distorted or hazy. Headaches, tired eyes, and squinting are some more signs. Nearsightedness is as a result of the cornea curving too much or the eyeball being too long.

Farsightedness

Farsightedness (hyperopia [3]), on the other hand, impairs your ability to focus on close-up items but allows you to view far objects clearly. This eyesight issue develops when the cornea is not sufficiently curled or when the eyeball is too short.
