Prevention

Reducing the strain on the body area that is hurting will help prevent heel discomfort.
Several pointers are as follows:
- not walking barefoot on rough surfaces and wearing shoes
- aiming for or maintaining a healthy weight to ease pressure on the heels
- Using implanted heel padding or selecting shoes with heels composed of a material that can absorb some stress
- making sure that shoes are comfortable and do not have deteriorated heels or soles
- Whenever feasible, resting the feet rather than standing
- Before participating in sports and activities that could put a lot of stress on the heels, warm up appropriately.
