Lymphedema

The soft tissues in the arms or legs, particularly the ankles, can experience swelling called lymphedema. It results from an accumulation of lymph fluid. White blood cells, which aid in the fight against infection, make up the majority of this.
The lymphatic system becomes blocked or suffers other harm, which results in lymphedema. The lymphatic system is a network of cells and organs that aids in the body’s ability to fight infection and maintain fluid balance.
Infections, cancer, and surgically removed lymph nodes are all potential causes of lymphedema. Lymphedema may also result from certain genetic diseases. Treatment seeks to lessen edema and stop other symptoms because lymphatic system damage is irreversible.
