10 Common Symptoms of Gallbladder Problems

Jaundice

Jaundice is a symptom and sign of gallbladder problem that leads to yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes. Jaundice is common in newborns, but it’s also an indication of a GB problem in adults. The organ releases bile into the small intestines through a tube called the cystic duct, which connects to the bile duct.

Jaundice occurs when there is an obstruction in these ducts. The common bile duct is the channel that leads from the gallbladder to the small intestine, jaundice begins to show once there is a blockage in this channel. That blockage can cause bile to build up in the gallbladder and increase the concentration of a yellowish substance called bilirubin.
