Chronic Diarrhea, Lighter-colored Stools, or Dark Urine
Gallbladder issues often lead to changes in digestion and bowel movements. Unexplained and frequent diarrhea after meals can be a sign of chronic GB disease. Diarrhea that lasts for more than 2-4 weeks is considered persistent or chronic. For someone who has a weakened immune system, chronic diarrhea can become a serious health issue and may represent a life-threatening illness. Having more than four bowel movements per day may be a sign of chronic gallbladder disease.
Lighter-colored stools and dark urine are possible signs [4] of a common bile duct block. Stools may become light-colored or chalky if bile ducts are obstructed. Dark urine may indicate gallbladder problems due to the presence of bile in the urine.
