Redness in the Eye

The redness in the eye is one of the most typical symptoms of glaucoma [2]. However, since the symptoms differ from one person to another, some individuals may not experience any redness in the eye. Generally, redness in the eye can occur when there is an expansion or dilation of the blood vessels on the eye’s surface.

In some cases, the eye’s redness may be due to irritants like dust, exposure to the sun, coughing, colds, and other allergic reactions. In most cases, eye redness is temporary, and it usually clears up in a few days or weeks, depending on the cause. However, the safest step to take when the eye’s redness is noticed is to see a licensed doctor.
