What Causes Glaucoma?

Dilating Eye Drops

Dilating eye drops are used to widen the eye’s black region (pupil) to prevent shrinking when a doctor shines a light on it. Depending on the drops and the patient’s strength, they may last between four to twenty-four hours. Typically, these drops may cause blurred vision for four to eight hours.

Acute-closure glaucoma may be caused by pharmacological pupil dilation. However, other health conditions are linked to acute-closure glaucoma, like ectopic eyes and diabetic neuropathy. Doctors typically request a medical history before administering these drops.
