For this reason, anyone with high uric acid needs to avoid the intake of alcohol and sugary beverages.

Beer specifically increases the uric acid levels in the body and lowers its ability to clear the substance out of its entire system. Sugary sodas and other drinks should be avoided as well. In a study [3] of 724 people, the consumption of wine, liquor, or beer increases the risk of gout attacks. In the same research, the drinking of one to two beverages daily increased the risk by 36%, while taking two to four increased by 51%.
