The Similarities and Differences between IBS and IBD

Irritable Bowel Syndrome Types & Diet

The major types of Irritable Bowel Syndrome are;

      • IBS with predominant constipation (IBS-C)
      • IBS with predominant diarrhea (IBS-D)
      • Mixed type of IBS
      • Unsubtyped IBS

One of the major treatment requirements for IBS is a drastic change in diet. There are several healthy foods but still aggravate or trigger the symptoms of the condition, so diet change is very important when treating IBS. Change in the diet depends largely on the kind of symptoms the patient is experiencing as well as the foods that trigger the symptoms in a particular patient. [3]
