Excessive Drinking

What you drink can cause you to urinate more often. If you take lots of water, you’ll likely notice that you urinate more. Intake of alcoholic drinks and beverages can also cause urinary frequency. This is usually the issue if you are urinating often at night.
If you notice excessive urination especially at night, you can try to:
- Avoid caffeine after midday
- Reduce your fluid intake several hours before bedtime
- Avoid alcoholic beverages
Overactive Bladder
Urinary frequency might result from bladder spasms brought on by an overactive bladder (OAB). [14] This occurs when you suddenly feel the urge to urinate and your bladder muscle contracts. If you can’t go to the loo in time, this could result in mishaps.
OAB affects roughly 12% of the population and is frequent. The idea that this is a typical aspect of ageing is false. However, OAB is a treatable illness.
