Signs and Symptoms Of Kidney Failure

Proteinuria

This means there is protein present in the urine. A normal characteristic of urine is that it is clear and still. However, when the urine is foamy, cloudy or turbid, it means there are excess proteins in the urine which cause it to foam. A visual image of this situation is the effects of adding soap into water.

Swelling (Edema)

When body parts like the ankles, feet and legs begin to swell or protrude, in such a manner that is beyond nice normal, and reasons like pregnancy, sitting for too long and consuming too much salt have been eliminated, then it can be a symptom of kidney failure. Swelling happens when the feet, legs and ankles begin to hold fluids which the kidney is supposed to have removed. The inability and failure of the kidneys to remove or eliminate the water waste causes retention of fluids in these body parts.
