Nervous Disorders

Neurological conditions [8], such as Parkinson’s disease, peripheral neuropathy, and multiple sclerosis, may also contribute to restless leg syndrome. Having problems with the spinal cord, such as lesions on the spinal cord following an injury or receiving anesthesia in the spinal cord can contribute to it too.
Peripheral neuropathy is usually caused by chronic diseases like diabetes and is marked by damage to the nerves in the hands and legs. It is sometimes associated with restless leg syndrome.
Multiple sclerosis also contributes to this disorder by damaging the myelin sheaths of the nerves. This reduces the connectivity of the neurons and disrupts communication. Like multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease disrupts the communication between the brain and limbs, but it does this by altering the dopaminergic pathways in the brain.
