6 Symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder(BPD)

Disturbed Thinking Patterns

People with BPD may have certain thoughts others would consider extremely absurd and inconsistent with reality. You may doubt your material existence or think of yourself as evil. You may feel dissociated from reality or like you are outside of your own body. This may drive you to seek external validation of your goodness or even existence.

You may suffer from acousma, the term for auditory hallucination. During these periods, which may be brief or prolonged, you may hear audible voices outside your head feeding you with disturbing instructions or beliefs. [5] These voices may instruct you to harm others or reinforce your paranoia with deeply unsettling thoughts. They may convince you that waiters at the restaurants you visit are plotting to poison your food. These thoughts can make you deeply suspicious of people.
