Angiotensin Blockers

This is another method of preventing migraine headaches. Angiotensin blockers are medications that are used to prevent the production of angiotensin, a hormone that causes blood vessels to narrow. Examples of Angiotensin blockers are Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) [3] inhibitors or Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs).

Its Effectiveness

Clinical studies have shown a certain type of ARB called candesartan to be effective in reducing the number of headache days, migraine days, and migraine hours. Also, an ACE inhibitor called lisinopril showed significant reduction in headache hours, headache days, and migraine days in study participants.
