Cold Sores

Cold sores are fluid-filled blisters that occur in the mouth, caused by herpes simplex virus. [3] They may be painful and can burst.

Cold sores usually heal on their own after a few weeks. Although they are contagious during that time. Treatment includes medication like Valtrex can help make it heal quicker.

Canker Sores

Canker sores are small sores, usually red, yellow or white, which can be painful and cause difficulty swallowing.

That usually goes away on their own, but may last for up to 10 days. To reduce the pain, you can use some over-the-counter numbing medication.

Cleft Palate

Cleft palate is a condition where there’s an incomplete separation between the nose and the mouth. If left untreated, it results in more complications.

It is usually treated with surgery.
