How to Treat Pancreatitis?

Intravenous Fluids

When the body devotes energy and fluids to the pancreas’ repair, the individual’s body can get dehydrated. For this reason, doctors ensure that the individual receives fluids through a vein in the arm when in the hospital. The fluid is usually in a bag connected to a line called the intravenous line. Intravenous fluids are often referred to as IV. The IV fluids are administered for several reasons, apart from treating pancreatitis. In every case of administration, the rate of flow of this fluid is controlled. Without control, the entire procedure relies on gravity, which can cause the supply of too much or too little fluid. Generally, IV medications are safe, but they could have some side effects, some which are mild and others which could be dangerous. Some of these side effects are infection, damage to blood vessels in the injection region, air embolism, and blood clots.
