The camera in the tube is meant for sending pictures that show the digestive system for easy monitoring. ERCP is a procedure that can aid in diagnosing problems with the pancreatic duct and the bile duct. It’s also essential to make repairs to those problems. Please note that ERCP may cause acute pancreatitis as well, especially in adults. Bile duct obstruction can also be diagnosed through a blood test, ultrasonography, cholangiography, and biliary radionuclide scan. Bile duct obstructions can be prevented.
