What Causes Pancreatitis?

When an individual has pancreatitis due to an infection, it is usually referred to as infectious pancreatitis. Various infectious microorganisms can lead to this condition. Examples of some of these infectious microorganisms are viruses. Examples of these viruses are Coxsackie, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus, mumps, and several others. Aside from the pancreatitis, viruses can cause conditions like rabies, polio, norovirus, rubella, measles, chickenpox, common cold, and influenza. In most scenarios, viral infections are not treated with any specific medications. However, antiviral drugs are used for treatment in some cases. Bacterial infections are just as common as viral ones. Bacteria come in different shapes and sizes, and they can be found in different environments, including bodies of water, our bodies, and soil. Bacteria helps the body, especially in the digestive tract, helping in the digestion of food.
