Sepsis Stages and Symptoms

When to See a Doctor?

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that requires urgent medical attention. Be sure to call an ambulance by phone if your or your loved one’s temperature rises above 38 degrees and it is accompanied by:

        • weakness, apathy;
        • behavior is different from normal, confusion is present;
        • dyspnea;
        • heart rate becomes higher than usual;
        • blood pressure becomes lower than usual;
        • The amount of urine excreted is significantly reduced despite the volume of fluid you drink.

Particular attention should be paid to these symptoms in the elderly [14] and people with chronic diseases. If the patient has recently undergone any operation, you need to inform the ambulance team about this. By the time the ambulance arrives, it is worth collecting together all the information materials issued by the doctor, issued upon discharge from the hospital, as well as the list of medicines used. All this will help facilitate the work of ambulance staff.
