Types of Hyperpigmentation
There are various types of this skin condition, such as:
- Sunspots: this occurs as a result of excessive exposure to sun rays which can be damaging to the skin.
- Melasma [1]: this mostly results from hormonal disturbances, like birth control pills and pregnancy.
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation: this occurs after the skin suffers a trauma such as inflammations, infections, etc.
