10 GERD(Acid Reflux, Heartburn) Treatments

Avoid Eating Close to Your Bedtime

It is a bad habit to sleep immediately after eating, even if your digestive system functions perfectly. It can prevent your food from digesting properly and lead to other problems. If you have GERD, this advice is more pertinent to you.

Avoid eating late. Ideally, you shouldn’t eat two or three hours close to your bedtime. A study published in 2013 found that the risk of experiencing GERD symptoms increased in those who went to sleep with three hours of eating a meal. [7]

Eat early to avoid this. This allows your food to digest quickly and reduces the likelihood of acid reflux occurring.
