Fat necrosis

When your breast is damaged by surgery or trauma, scar tissue may occur. When you touch fat necrosis, it feels like a hard lump. It could lead to breast discharge and tethering of the nipple and skin. Fat necrosis can imitate cancer on images and a biopsy is required to differentiate the two.
Other examples of benign lumps include breast hematomas, hemangiomas, adenomyeoptheliomas, and neurofibromas. You should know that people with benign lumps may be more susceptible to breast cancer. You must continue your regular breast examination, even after discovering that the growth is benign.
Women who have had harmless breast growth have higher chances of developing breast cancer than those who have never had any breast disease. A study done in 2019 by the international journal of cancer revealed that having benign breast disease (BBD) elevates the chances of developing breast cancer in the future. Your family history, genetic mutation, and breast cancer history are also considered.
