Treatment for cysts vs. fibroids

Cysts and fibroids don’t usually require medical attention. However, there are alternatives available if they are large enough to prevent conception or result in serious symptoms. These include:
- monitoring with regular checks and ultrasounds to determine if they go away or get worse
- hormone-based birth control to lessen excessive bleeding
- surgery to remove fibroids
- If you don’t want to become pregnant in the future, you can have a hysterectomy, which is the surgical removal of the uterius.
- endometrium ablating [7]
- embolization of uterine fibroid to stop the fibroid’s blood supply
Treatment for Cyst
- hormonal contraceptives to reduce the incidence of cyst formation
- watchful waiting with routine checks and ultrasounds to determine if they dissolve or are increasing
- minimally invasive surgery to remove small cyst
