Diagnosis for cysts and fibroids

Your symptoms and the results of a pelvic exam may lead your doctor to believe you have fibroids or cysts. Further details, such as the presence of aberrant growths and their location, may be revealed by certain imaging procedures. These tests include:
- stomach ultrasound
- pelvic MRI [3]
- transvaginal ultrasound [4]
These growths are most likely fibroids, also known as myomas or leiomyomas, if they occur inside or on the uterine wall.
It’s most likely a cyst if there is a tumor on an ovary. If the bulk is solid or fluid-filled, ultrasound imaging can assist in determining this. The latter instance involves an ovarian cyst, which is nearly invariably benign.
However, your doctor may request a blood test for cancer antigen 125 (CA-125) [5] if the mass is solid or somewhat solid, you have passed menopause [6], or you are at high risk of developing ovarian cancer. Many medical diseases, including ovarian cancer, may cause a high amount of CA-125 in your blood.
