Types of Miscarriage
When it comes to explaining miscarriages, there are various types that medical doctors are familiar with. These include complete miscarriage, incomplete miscarriage, threatened miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, and missed miscarriage.
- Complete Miscarriage
This occurs when there is a complete emptiness of the embryo [2] outside of the uterus. In this case, the rate of bleeding reduces rapidly.
- Incomplete Miscarriage
This is a result of an opening in the cervix, and also pain in the abdominal or back region.
- Threatened Miscarriage
Bleeding occurs at an early stage of the pregnancy, with a little backache. In this condition, the cervix remains closed and the pregnancy continues.
- Recurrent Miscarriage
This is when there is an incidence of three or four miscarriages during the first three months of the pregnancy.
- Missed Miscarriage
For a missed miscarriage, there is no pain or bleeding, as the embryo is already dead.
