Breastfeeding Positions And Tips For Mom And Baby

Cradle hold

This position involves holding your baby in cradle hold during the course of breastfeeding. It is the most used position, because it gives you total control over the baby. Stay in an upright position. Put your baby across your chest and let your baby’s head lie on the edge of your elbow. You can use your other hand and arm to support the other part of your baby’s body

In the cradle hold position, your baby’s weight is placed on you. It may be similar to laid-back breastfeeding which involves laying back into a seated position. However, in cradle hold, you are sitting up straight and cradling the baby. The baby does not directly lay on your chest.
