Breastfeeding Positions And Tips For Mom And Baby

Breastfeeding positions

There are many breastfeeding positions that you can engage in. Some of them include;

Laid-back breastfeeding

This position involves holding your baby in a laid-back breastfeeding position. It is also referred to as biological nurturing. You can start by resting your back on your bed or couch into a semi-reclined position. Let your baby lie tummy to tummy on your body so their head will be located close to your breast.

The laid-back breastfeeding position was recently discovered and has been used by many mothers over the last few years. It is highly comfortable for the baby because it feels more natural and it allows babies to stay in a relaxed position.

According to experts, the laid-back position is best for people who had a cesarean delivery [1] (C-section). If you remain completely upright for a long time, you may feel more pain and discomfort at the incision site. The laid back position does not engage all your abdominal muscles [2], so it doesn’t cause so much pain.
